Barcelona — winter base
When the Menorca season closes we move to the Spanish mainland and run a comprehensive programme of practical and theory courses out of Barcelona — aimed at professional development, RYA shorebased theory and long-weekend practical training.

Small-group Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore theory — chartwork, tides, buoyage, IRPCS, weather and passage planning, taught in English over evenings and weekends.
On-the-water prep weekends alongside the theory: pilotage, night navigation, boat handling under power and sail, and skipper drills ahead of the summer exam season.
Short practical courses built around a Friday-to-Sunday format, so you can keep building tickets and miles without taking a full week off work.
Winter is when our professional and aspiring-professional crew top up qualifications, log miles and work through a personal development plan with an instructor.
The winter refit — rigging checks, engine service, antifouling and safety-gear surveys — is open to students who want to learn the systems side of yacht ownership.
Each spring we sail the classic Barcelona to Ibiza overnight rally: real racing miles, watch-keeping and a lively finish, and an ideal qualifying passage.
Most students do their theory and prep on the mainland over the winter, then join a practical course or mile-builder passage from our Menorca base once the season opens. It is the same instructors, the same yacht and one continuous development plan.
Tell us your experience and the dates that suit you and we will put together a theory-and-practical plan for the winter.
